Labour Market Information overviews

Labour Market Information or LMI usually refers to data found in tables, spreadsheets, maps, graphs, charts, reports and newspaper articles, or it may exist informally and anecdotally.  It can tell us:

  • Where jobs are currently located
  • The current size of industrial sectors and changes which might be expected in coming years
  • Where there are shortages or oversupply of potential employees and skills
  • The hours and wages that can be realistically expected
  • The skills employers are seeking
  • Entry routes into jobs, careers and sectors

Below are case studies that have been produced by Skills Hull and East Yorkshire, letting you know the essential statistics and facts of each industry.  This information can also be found in the Shape your future booklet.
