Hull in Bloom winner

Congratulations to Teaching Assistant Mrs Brunyee who has swept the board at the Hull City of Culture Hull in Bloom Awards Evening at the Guildhall. She won Bronze in the Container Garden category, Silver for Best Garden, Gold for Best Wildlife Garden and overall winner for Hull City of Culture Wildlife Garden of the Year. Following on from her previous overall win in 2015, she is clearly maintaining a very high standard.

She said 'When we moved into our house 20 years ago the garden was nothing but grass. Over the years we have put in two ponds and used specific plants to attract insects and wildlife. As well as foxes, bats and owls, we get plenty of dragonflies now which shows there is a good eco system developing. I really enjoy passing cuttings around and swapping plants with friends - there's nothing better than bringing a bedraggled plant back to life!'
