Pastoral Care

At Wolfreton, our students are at the heart of everything we do.

We know that providing the best pastoral care in school and working in close partnership with families, our students can have the very best chance of success.

Pastoral Care at Wolfreton includes communicating and ensuring the highest standards of attendance and behaviour, as well as doing all we can to make sure that our students' social, emotional, physical and mental well-being needs are known and supported.  Pastoral care is provided by our dedicated Year Teams who see their students each day, with our Wider Pastoral Team providing more specialist support.  Our Early Help Offer is strengthened further through our investment in and strong working relationship with a carefully selected range of providers and, where needed, we have clear processes in place to refer to external agencies.

Year Teams

Our Year Teams form the basis of our Pastoral Team.  Each child is part of a Form Group within their year group.  Students spend Form Time with their Form Tutor each day; they can also go to them for support or guidance.  Each Year Group is led by a Head of Year (teaching) and Pastoral Manager (non-teaching).

Our Form Tutors are the people our students spend time with every morning. They know them best.

They ensure they are ready for each day, recognise their successes and set them challenges to be even better.

All of our Form Tutors are also teachers.

Each year group has it's own Pastoral Manager. As a non-teaching member of the support staff team, they are the main point of contact when students require further support. They are also the main point of contact for our parents and carers.

Our Pastoral Managers will oversee attendance, behaviour and the care needs of our students.

Our Heads of Year lead our year teams and are key members of the Wider Leadership Team.

Heads of Year focus on academic progress, as well as working closely with our Pastoral Managers to guide our students to rise 'The Wolfreton Way'.

As teachers, Heads of Year celebrate the gains and challenge students to be the best they can be.

Communication with Year Teams

Partnership with families is of upmost importance to us as with shared information, we can work together to best support your child.

We have a dedicated Parent Services Administrator who is able to respond to most requests during the school day, or who can book in appointments with our Year Teams.  Unfortunately, we are unable to provide ‘on demand meetings’ therefore politely request appointments are booked.  This is because most colleagues have teaching timetables, and our pastoral managers maintain busy diaries meeting with students, families and external support services.

The best way to contact your child’s Year Team or the Parent Services Administrator is via enquiries@wolfreton.co.uk adding your child’s Year Team (e.g. Year 7) or ‘Parent Services’ in the subject line.
