Inaugural Hull FC 9's Schools Cup

'On a cold and wet Tuesday night the Year 8s and 9s travelled to Hull FC's elite performance centre on County Road to compete in the schools 9-a-side competition.

The Year 9s unfortunately failed to get out of their group. After comfortably beating Sirius North they lost to Malet Lambert who were the eventual winners of the competition. Therefore they failed to progress to the semi-finals.

It was a different story for the Year 8s though, who, after comfortably winning their group, went on to beat Andrew Marvell in the quarter final and then Winifred Holtby in the semi-final. This set up a tense final against Kelvin Hall in front of a big crowd but with Chris Green and Gaz Ellis coaching from the sidelines the lads held their nerve and managed to win the game and the competition. A great night for all involved and as always the students did us proud.' Mr Marshall
