'After over 100 school football fixtures this year we are approaching the end of the school football season.
Among the highlights are the Year 8 'B' team and Year 11 'A' team who once again did incredibly well, with both making the National Cup Quarter finals. All five year groups won their regional 7 a side competitions and will now play on the East Riding Finals night after Easter. The Year 8 'A' and 'B', Year 10 'B' and Year 11 teams have all qualified for the Humberside Cup Finals which will again be played after the Easter holidays.
After beating Driffield on penalties in the semi final, the Year 7 team played in their East Riding Cup Final. Against a good South Hunsley team with numerous academy players, the team ethos really stood out. With goals from Will Barrass and Liam Jacklin, Wolfreton ran out comfortable 2-0 winners. On the same night the Year 10 'B' team met South Hunsley again, this time in the Humberside Cup Final. In a very close tense match, goals from Ben Mitchell and two from Matty Thomas gave Wolfreton a 3-2 victory. A special mention to Zhao Zhang who had never played a football match before this season and is now a Humberside Cup Winner!
