The Wolfreton Rushanje Community
Partnership
Sponsors
An account is maintained by Wolfreton’s Finance and Resources Manager. Moneys received and withdrawn are recorded to ensure that all activities are open to scrutiny and subject to annual audit. Donations are transferred to Uganda by Western Union or bank transfer.
Initial funding was via the BP Link plus an amount collected by Ann Peck from her year group. In 2001 and 2002 a percentage of the money raised during the ‘BBC Children in Need Day’ event was also donated to the fund. A policy of donating a percentage of money raised in general charity events in the future was approved by the senior management
Wolfreton Faculties also donate items to their counterparts at Rushanje.
Parental and Staff Sponsorship
Private sponsorship is welcomed and may take the form of specific or general donations . In either case the donation will be acknowledged by both schools and where possible evidence of its use will be provided. ( see other web pages

A Wolfreton, teacher, parent or group of parents who may wish to provide student sponsorship will be fully informed of the details of their ‘adopted’ student, progress reports and personal correspondence. To maintain continuity it is desirable if this type of sponsorship is for a minimum of one full academic year. An ideal would be for a Wolfreton family to sponsor a student from year 7 and maintain this support
“Priority is given to students who are good academically who have lost their parents due to AIDS, especially those who are the current heads of their families. We have a number of them in the school and they usually work at the school during their holidays to help pay their fees”. A Turyasiimwa. Headteacher
Alternatively it is possible to sponsor a student: There are many students who cannot gain access to education because of financial constraints. Some are only able to attend for a fraction of the school year and some have to leave if their parents cannot continue to afford the fees. The State pays for the salaries of
