Uniform

All students in years 7 to 11 are expected to wear our school uniform. Sixth Form students are not required to wear an agreed uniform, however their standard of dress should be appropriate and suitable for wear around younger students.

To order school uniform

Our school uniform provider is Steady School Wear. They offer a local shop for parents and students to visit and also a website for online orders. Uniform can be purchased:

All items purchased are delivered to the address of your choice. There is a postage charge on orders below £100 but this is free for orders over this amount. 

PE Kit

All students in Years 7 to 11 are expected to wear our PE kit for their PE lessons.

To guarantee delivery for the start of September, all orders for uniform and PE kit need to be placed with Steady School Wear by a date in August – this will be communicated to parents each year.

Our school uniform and PE kit supplier has been selected following a review of ‘best value’. In considering this we have evaluated factors including cost, quality and the service provided to our parents.

Girls 

House Tie

Wolfreton House tie, worn with top button of blouse fastened. 7-8 full stripes to be showing at all times.  Please confirm House colour before purchase.*

Wolfreton Blazer

Black girl’s blazer with school logo. The blazer must be worn to school every day.

Shirt / Blouse

Plain white, formal uniform type of standard length to tuck in and with standard shirt type collar. Sleeves may be full length or short. No fitted shirts, no darts, no trim, motifs, writing, logos or coloured buttons. All shirts must be worn tucked in. If a t-shirt / thermal is worn underneath for warmth this must not be visible, must be plain white with no writing or logos and sleeves must not extend beyond the shirt.

Skirt

Smart, plain black, medium weight material, formal uniform type of a decent length i.e. sits no more than just above the knee.  Not too long, too short, not with splits, no lycra or cotton. **

Trousers

Smart, tailored, plain black, formal uniform type.  No close fitting trousers, lycra, jean, cotton or cord type material.**

Socks

Plain black, grey or white socks.

Tights

Plain black or tan tights.

Shoes

Black flat heeled school shoes.  Any laces must be black and remain tied.  No trainers, boots (footwear that covers the ankle / above), canvas shoes.

V-necked jumper (optional)

Black school jumper with the Wolfreton logo. No plain black jumpers.

V-necked cardigan (optional)

Black school cardigan with the Wolfreton logo. No plain black cardigans.

PE Kit

The Wolfreton PE kit is compulsory for students.

Footwear

Students will need to bring indoor court trainers (with non-marking soles), moulded football boots (FG), suitable for use on a 3G pitch, for football, rugby and hockey. No footwear is required for dance and gym. Staff will inform students when activities are taking place to ensure they bring the correct footwear to school.

Smart and Business-like 

Make-up

Students may wear subtle make-up suitable for a business environment.  No nail varnish is permitted.

Jewellery

A single pair of small silver or gold stud earrings may be worn in the lobe of the ear.  No additional earrings or piercings in the ear or elsewhere.  Students are advised not to bring jewellery to school. Students who do so must be aware that the school accepts no responsibility for any jewellery that is lost or stolen.

Body / facial piercings

Any body / facial piercings are incompatible with life in a safe-working, business-like school environment and are not permitted to be worn.

Tattoos

Students with a tattoo / tattoos are required to keep them covered at all times.

Hair

No extreme styles or colours are permitted.

Hats

Hats are not permitted except in extreme weather (except for religious observance or medical need). In such weather they may be worn outside but must not be worn anywhere in the school building. 

Accessories

Earphones, scarves, significant hair accessories or additional accessories are not part of the school uniform and must not be worn. 
If a belt is required this must be thin and black.

Coats and hooded tops

Coats must not be worn in registration or any other indoor based lesson.

Wolfreton ‘team’ items

Hoodies and jumpers bearing the school logo have often been purchased by team / cast / trip members.  These may not be worn in school as part of the school uniform.

Mobile phone / audio player

Any student who brings a mobile phone or audio player to school with them does so at their own risk. The school takes no responsibility for the loss, theft or damage of these items. The use of mobile devices is only allowed around the school site before and after school and at Break and Lunchtime. These devices should be turned off at all other times.

Money / wristwatches

Any small sums of money or wristwatches brought to school are the students’ responsibility during the day including morning break and lunchtime. The school will make arrangements for the collection and safe storage of wristwatches and money at the start of PE lessons only.

*If a tie is lost during the school year, a replacement can be purchased at school.

**High street shops often sell a range of skirts / trousers under the banner of ‘school uniform’, some of these items are deemed inappropriate. Confirm your selection with a Pastoral Manager before purchase if in any doubt.


Any item deemed inappropriate by the school must be removed.
All uniform should be clearly labelled with the student’s name to enable it to be identified in lost property if lost.
